Highlands GP concerned with mask changes

The Chair of the Southern Highlands Division of General Practice believes a decision to allow shoppers not wear masks from December 15 is a little bit shortsighted.

Masks will still be worn on public transport and at airports and high risk venues, but a push by health officials for the rules to continue in shops has been rejected by Cabinet's sub committee.

Dr. Vince Roche said time will tell if things change.

"Do not be surprised if we find that come March, April, May, as the weather gets colder that we get told to wear masks again,

"The covid numbers in the northern hemisphere heading into Winter are getting worse," Dr. Roche said.
