Four males have been arrested following an alleged pursuit in the state’s Southern Region.
About 10.15am today, Police clocked a Subaru speeding on the Illawarra Highway at Burrawang.
Officers tried to catch up with the vehicle, but it evaded them.
Ten minutes later, officers saw the vehicle on the Illawarra Highway at Moss Vale and a pursuit was initiated.
It was quickly terminated due to safety concerns.
Just before 11am the Subaru, again travelling at high speed, was seen heading south on the Hume Highway where it crashed into the rear of a Lexus being driven by a 60-year-old man.
The Subaru rolled a number of times before coming to a stop on the median strip, about 100m north of Tiyces Lane in Boxers Creek.
All four occupants got out and ran from the scene.
Police gave chase and arrested an 18-year-old man and two 14-year-old boys.
The 17-year-old male alleged driver was also found nearby and returned a positive roadside breath test.
All four were taken to Goulburn Police Station.
The driver was taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury and will undergo mandatory testing.
The driver of the Lexus wasn't injured.
Charges are expected to be laid.
