Bowral RSL Sub Branch President John Cummins advises that Anzac Day 2021 in Bowral will be commemorated in the following manner.

No Formal Dawn Service, the RSL Sub Branch suggests that we again observe the candle in the driveway event that many Southern Highland residents conducted last year.

ANZAC Day March and War Memorial Service, the march will commence at 10.30am at the corner of Boolwey and Bong Bong St proceeding to the Bowral Memorial Park.

Participation in the march will be limited to Service members, ex-Service members and one relative of a deceased veteran.

To assist and save time on the day if you plan to take part in the march and require memorial service seating, John has asked that you phone 48612150 or email [email protected] before the 20th April to register.

Elderly Veterans may be dropped off and picked up near the War Memorial however no parking will be available in this area.

Wreath laying at the service will be restricted however John has advised that individuals and organisations may lay wreaths before 10am or after 12 noon.

Spectators can observe the march and memorial service however social distancing and COVID check in will be required, this will be managed by NSW Police and other agencies of the NSW Government.

John said that the ANZAC day arrangements are subject to any changes in COVID restrictions that may or may not be in place at the time.

John is hopeful that Anzac Day 2022 will be back as it was in the years prior to COVID.

In closing John would like to take the opportunity to thank the Southern Highlands residents for their support of the veteran community and especially Matthew McCarthy NSW Police and Leesa Stratford and Tim Sullivan from Wingecarribee Shire for their assistance in getting ANZAC day arrangements in place.

It is very important that all those attending these events observe social distancing and should the before or after the events display any COVID symptoms they should contact their GP.
