The majority of Wingecarribee Councillors have voted in favour of offering Fairground Follies owner Craig Robson a 50 per cent discount on development contribution charges.
This would equate to more than $35,000 and would factor in the community benefit to the shire.
Mayor Duncan Gair says he'd like to think it's a position that Mr. Robson and council can accept.
He believes it's a fair compromise, given that any other businesses in the shire which put in a DA have to contribute if they're connecting to water and sewage infrastructure.
Councillor Ken Halstead opposed the discount, believing that council shouldn't be subsidising developers.
