The Southern Highlands Rural Fire Service is keeping a very close eye on two out of control bushfires burning in the Wollondilly Shire west of Lake Burragorang.
The first is the ' Green Wattle Creek ' fire which has burnt out more than 7000 hectares, and the second called ' the Peaks ', which has destroyed around 700 hectares.
Inspector David Stimson is asking residents in the Wingecarribee Shire to stay updated on the situation.
A total fire ban is in place across the Wingecarribee and Wollondilly Local Government areas today with hot and windy conditions forecast.
