Retford Park dual occupancy knocked back

A controversial development application at Retford Park has been knocked back by Wingecarribee Councillors.

The DA for a dual occupancy on a corner block along Sir James Fairfax Circuit was eventually voted down five votes to three.

The majority of Councillors had concerns about increased traffic flow, the bulk and scale of the development, setting a precedent for corner blocks and the project being out of character with the surrounding development.

Councillor Peter Nelson who supported the approval of the DA, believes the decision won't stack up in Land and Environment Court.
