Forestry Roads could be council's responsibility

There are fears councils, including Wingecarribee could be hit with the financial burden of maintaining forestry roads if the sale of the Forestry Corporation goes ahead to the highest bidder.

There are currently more than 380 kilometres of forestry roads in our shire.

Shadow Minister for Local Government Greg Warren says they're a state asset which should be managed by the state.

He also says that councils already have enough on their plate trying to fix local roads.
