Wingecarribee Council will continue to operate the shire's Family Day Care and Out of School Hours services for the time being.
At last night's meeting the majority of Councillors agreed for council to provide direct service delivery for a further three years with another review to be conducted in two years.
Councillor Ken Halstead says it's an essential service which needs to be looked after and is glad the United Services Union got involved.
He believes it will help keep the private sector in check.
Meantime Councillor Gary Turland has questioned the level of support offered from State and Federal Governments.
