FOOD DRIVE SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS

Another monster food drive for asylum seekers gets underway in the Southern Highlands from Monday.

Locals are being encouraged to drop off non perishable foods, which will then be sent to the Asylum Seeker Centre in Newtown.

A similar drive held last year across the shire, raised around $20,000 worth of goods.

Coordinator Julie Wise says there'll be a number of collection points.

That includes: Bowral Church of Christ, Oxley College, there'll also be tables outside Woolworths in Bowral and Harris Farm.
