Backflip on emergency services levy

The State Government has caved into pressure from local councils and will now be covering an increase to the emergency services levy this financial year.

The 22 per cent hike would've seen Wingecarribee Council pay an extra $123,000.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman admits the levy would've placed an additional burden on councils already under financial pressure.

Wingecarribee Mayor Duncan Gair is also welcoming the news.
