Local residents who want to study at Tafe are expected to benefit from Labor's commitment to provide free courses for more than 600,000 certificate level places.
That includes child care, disability care, aged care, construction, plumbing and electrical trades.
Labor Candidate for Goulburn Ursula Stephens is welcoming the announcement and says it's essential that more money is invested into Tafe.
She says over the past decade there's been a market based approach, which has distorted the system.
Many people choose not to go to Tafe, because they can't afford the fees.
