Pub-goers from Woolgoolga to Nyngan are waiting to see if their local will take out the People’s Choice award at this year’s AHA NSW Awards for Excellence.
St Georges Basin watering hole the Cooee Motel has been named as a finalist after finishing in the top ten in the state.
First introduced in 2022, the ‘People’s Choice’ is the only category that allows members of the community the chance to get behind their favourite pub by voting it best in the state and thousands have done so.
The state’s most beloved watering hole will be crowned at a gala awards event on Tuesday, 29 October at Royal Randwick Racecourse.
AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said it was great to see patrons getting behind their local
pubs and making their vote count.
“This category has proved incredibly popular – because people are extremely passionate about their local pub,” Mr Whelan said.
“It really is a chance to let the rest of NSW know your pub is the best of the best.”
