Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has addressed one of the most persistent and polarizing rumors that emerged from Avengers: Endgame. After the universe was saved by the gang of superheroes, Avengers: Endgame concludes with Thor jumping on board Star Lords vessel The Milano with the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Since then, rumors have persisted regarding an upcoming third Guardians of the Galaxy film that could be titled “Asgardians of the Galaxy”, as Thor is the King of Asgard, which didn’t sound too appealing to fans.
Hemsworth then went on to put fuel on the fire of speculation in an interview with Cinemabland telling a journalist that he was a fan of the prospective title. “Asguardians of the Galaxy, that’s actually great” said Hemsworth “You might’ve just got me my next job.”.
Director Gunn was quick to dismiss the new name, confirming to fans that their would not be name change for the next Guardians movie after sharing a series of worries messages from fans on his Instagram Story.
Gunn has been confirmed back on board for the next installment of the Marvel franchise with filming expected to begin in 2020 after he was fired for a old Tweets containing offensive jokes then rehired in 2018 due to massive support from his fans.
