Jervis Bay Male Choir
Mon 1 Nov 2021 12:00 pm to Sun 31 Jul 2022 12:00 pm
After a year of enforced layoff due to Covid-19, the Jervis Bay Male Choir is firing up again under the direction of Choirmaster Andrew Irvine.
The choir sings four-part harmony with accompaniment, from a repertoire put together by the Male Choirs Association of Australia, and others. The songs range across genres, from Leonard Cohen to musicals, and from all-time favourites to spirituals.
Currently there is no cost to join the choir. However, once the choir builds to a sustainable number, a small annual fee is anticipated. Members can participate in a range of gigs as they wish, from small local performances up to the Male Choirs Association of Australia Festival, which brings together over 400 voices from male choirs from all over Australia and New Zealand.
The choir meets weekly in the Aveo Village Community Centre, Island Point Road, St Georges Basin, from 5 to 7 pm each Tuesday evening. New members are very welcome, irrespective of singing or musical experience. Just turn up, or phone Andrew on 0437 694 010, or email him at [email protected] if you would like further information.
